Description: A Nazi lieutenant colonel who was one of the major organisers of the Holocaust during World War II. He was captured by American forces at the end of the war in 1945, but managed to escape from their custody, after which he spent several years living in Germany under a false identity. He eventually fled to Argentina in 1950, where he lived until his arrest by Israeli intelligence agents in 1960. They brought him to Israel, where he was taken to trial for his war crimes. The court eventually convicted him of (among others) crimes against humanity, and sentenced him to death by hanging.
