Meaning & History

The Huval name has historically been labeled German or Acadian (Cajun), however, recently more information has been discovered that shows the Huvals came directly from France.

Most common in South Louisian, USA. More specifically, most common in Lafayette, St. Martin, and New Iberia Parishes. Name is more than likely descendant from a single ancestor: the 1750 Louisiana pioneer Jean Huval Vualle.
