Websites I've found suggest the name is from the Greek sikla, meaning "bucket", and a ?Siclaro (?Siclario) would have been a fabricator of buckets, perhaps milk pails. Such names date from the time when many Southern Italians spoke Greek rather than Italian; a few still do.
