Piper doesn't seem like a name at all to me. I love Tessa and would use it IRL.
I was at school with a Philippa, always known as Pippa, and her friend, Tessa. Both sets of parents had dithered about whether to name their daughter Pippa or Tessa, and came to the opposite conclusions.
