[Opinions] Maori names
Kia Ora! It's Maori language week and I came across a tool that's been put together to translate names into the Maori version. https://myname.kupu.co.nz/
Put your name in and share the Maori versionLet me know if you want help with pronunciation

What fun! Mine is Tina. Also typed in a few of my loved ones' names, too. Caroline translates to Kararaina. How pretty is that? The pronunciation looks pretty straightforward. Am I right about that?

I haven't heard this one said aloud. Simple pronunciation would be "kah-rah-RY-nah" but I think the "raina" part would be more rah-EE-nah with the "rah-EE" spoken together. Hope that makes sense!

Hi !!!My Maori name would be Rohana (real is Rossana). It seems quite good as its sound is similar to Roimata and Aroha. Can you share any Maori name? There are only 36 of them in the main database and a lot of them are just variant of European names like Wiremu or Tipene.

Mine came out as Ema, so it’s not that different.

Aww, mine comes back as Kiritīni. Kiri is one of my favourite names, so that makes me really happy :)
