[Opinions] WDYT of Megan
You guys were so great with suggestions for double first name combos with Mary. We are still tossing around several first names. My husband's suggestion is Megan. What are your honest opinions about it? What would be a pretty middle name to go with it? Our last name is Lovelace.
Thanks,
Kelly

I really love Megan! I think it's pretty, timeless, sweet-just a great name! I would use it in a heartbeat but I have a friend with a Megan and a niece named Meghan. I like some of these for middle names:Megan Elizabeth
Megan Rose
Megan Kathleen
Megan DanielleGood luck!

I know Megan is a variant of Margaret. But it has always struck me as a cutesy nn. It reminds me of "muffin." It just doesn't sound like the name for a grown woman. I've never really warmed to it. It didn't help that the name was overly used in the 80's to the point of boredom. But there aren't so many Megans in this crop of newborns, so your little Megan won't be one of many. Megan Kate Lovelace
Megan Kathleen / Cathleen Lovelace
Megan Anne Lovelace
Megan Patricia Lovelace
Megan Colleen Lovelace
Megan Eve Lovelace
Megan Emily Lovelace
Megan Charlotte Lovelace
Megan Ruby Lovelace
Megan Holly Lovelace
Megan Siobhan Lovelace ("sha-VAWN," = Jane / Joan in Irish)
Megan Sian Lovelace ("shawn," = Jane / Joan in Welsh)
Megan Eileen Lovelace
Megan Fiona Lovelace
Megan Bridget Lovelace
Megan Ailsa Lovelace
Megan Catriona Lovelace ("ca-TREE-uh-na," or "ca-TREE-na")
Megan Carys Lovelace

Megan is my sister's name and I really love it for that reason. I also LOVE the nn Meg, which is something you could use to be a little less "in the 90s trend mill". It was very popular in the late 80s and 90s and there were 5 other Megan's in my sister's dance team of 40 girls. So, nice name but a little specific to a generation of which your child missed the boat, if you know what I mean.Britney Tamber

Sorry, i do not like the name Megan, it is just totally unattractive to me and overrated. I tend to associate Megan with either blonde cheerleaders who squeal and giggle over every least little thing, or little girls throwing fits in public places and their mothers give right into them but only after the kid has succeeded in annoying every other person in the place.

I agree with you. The only Megans I have known were sort of airheads or were just rude/mean. It could be cute if it didn't have that association with it.

I feel the same way, ecept I don't think Megan is an ugly name in itself - just completely overused. I know so many Megans and they were pretty much all like how you described them(the "popular" girls, like the Heathers in Heathers).
