mieux means 'best' in French. like in the phrase 'do one's best' (= faire de son mieux.) 'Le' in French is the masculine article (i.e. 'the'), but i'm not sure if Lemieux could be translated into 'the best' because atleast according to my dictionary 'the best' would be le meilleur...
