Does anyone know anything about the surname Samary?
It should be french, because I've come across it while reading about actress Jeanne Samary (Yes, that girl from a famous portrait 'Jeanne Samary' created by Pierre-Auguste Renoir). I've tried to research but it turns out that the only people with that surname are her relatives. Is it too rare? What meaning does it have?
What region of France did it come from?
Any information (esp. about etymology) would be appreciated.
