It's not that we do not care... don't you see many questions made and answers given? a lot of investigation? No answer is given when no answer is known... All I can say is that I think that if "barrow" is not itself a modern english word (which can be looked for in the common etymological dictionaries dedicated to common words, or in a full encyclopedia) it can be found if you write in google the following words: "scottish surnames" or "last names" it's a link written here elsewhere in the message board and almost as good as this one, I bet I've seen "barrow" there... Good luck (I'm pretty busy right now so I haven't checked it myself, sorry)
