[Opinions] WW1 French peasants
I've just seen a movie about French peasants during WW1. WDYT?DH: Léon (check Leon)
DW: Appolonie (check Apollonia)DS: Jean, married with Baptistine (female form of Baptiste)
DD: Marie-Céleste (check Marie and Celeste) nn Marie
DD: Agostine (check Agostina)
DS: Félix (check Felix)Appolonie has a full brother, Matthieu, who is the father of Baptistine. His wife is Margue (French form of Marge).Interesting detail: Léon and Appolonie are half brother and half sister, and married to keep the land in the family and not to divide it. According to my father it wasn't rare until the 1950's. O_o

I often wish I was french so I could get away with naming my kids french names!
I know someone who's due to have a baby boy any day now, and she's calling him Marcel (sp?)
...nms but she can get away with it because of her french surname..
