[Opinions] Astra/Astraea
I am loving both of these names. I'm wondering how Astraea is correctly pronunced. I'd probably use Astraea for a middle name. Astra has just caught my attention. Its in the category of names I've recently grown to love. (Signy/Vara/Sigrid/Tancred/Aviva) Very unusual, but historical names. Does it match? What do you think of it? Also, is it better as a middle name or first name?

I'm wondering about Astraea too, now. I've always said it ah-STRAY-ah, but now I'm curious as to whether that's right or not.
Astraea's kind of like Leo to me. Astraea, the Goddess of Justice, became the constellation Virgo after she left the our mortal world. So I prefer the name only on a girl who's actually a Virgo, even though not many people know of Astraea's Virgo connection.
I don't think of the car when I hear Astra, and I prefer it to Astraea for a non-Virgo child. I also think Astra fits better visually with your other female choices. I think it especially goes well with Signy and Sigrid in both sound and looks.

Astraea is the way the name of my country is oftened mis-pronounced by lazy enunciators!
ROFL, it is too . . .
I guess we couldn't use it here - it *is* very like the Strine for Australia!
