The name spelled Marlowe is too butch and surnamey for a female, in my opinion. Funny you should say 'in the same vain [sic],' since to me it does sound a bit vain on a guy. Anyway, I really don't like that surnamey spelling on a girl; it's heavy as a ton of bricks.However, the name Marlo is an established name (albeit rare) for girls, and I adore it.(sorry about long URL. I'm too lazy for snipURL)

LOL, I noticed the "vain" part too. Anyways, oddly I've never considered that particular spelling (don't know why especially considering Marlo Thomas), but I think you might be right about the other spelling being heavy.
