The name spelled
Marlowe is too butch and surnamey for a female, in my opinion. Funny you should say 'in the same vain [sic],' since to me it does sound a bit vain on a guy. Anyway, I really don't like that surnamey spelling on a girl; it's heavy as a ton of bricks.
However, the name Marlo is an established name (albeit rare) for girls, and I adore it.
