Help[Facts] origin of ancestors name
Hello there
I am currently researching my ancestors & have got as far back as 1652 (Petri Hough).Obviously this is not a commonly used English name & i am looking for any ideas as to were the name originates from.
His two chilren were named, Guilielm & Petrus, again not familiar English names.
In fact the first Known names were the next generation,who were called John & Peter Hough.These were born in 1702 & 1704 respectively.If any body has information regarding the origins of the names Petri,Guilielm or Petrus, ie which country they are or were commonly used i would be extremely grateful.
