I am looking for the meaning or origin of my great-grandfather's middle name. It was Obadier. So far I have not found it in any database. He lived from 1851-1931. Where could this name have come from? Anyone have any ideas?

They're both in college but haven't a clue -- same as many of their peers. My son slept thru two years of French class (without ever getting sent to the office) and they passed him anyway. They're both articulate and good writers, so not illiterate, but

Well, we do the best we can. I'm a single mom. My daughter's 8 and brilliant, so I try to supplement her education at home as best I can. I'm pretty happy with the school though, for a religious school. I did a lot of research before choosing it. The good
