Tracie, when you talk to your friend again, ask her in which U.S. state (or territory) her great-great-grandfather was born. Ask her what her ancestor's surname was. Ask her the year in which she thinks her ancestor was born and when he died. A search of U.S. census records may turn up a clue as to the origin of his name. :)
