Lala's Create a Family Contest
Welcome to Lala's Create a Family Contest
Here are the Rules
1. You are to Create a Family using the format below. Please to not alter the format.
2. The family's names have to be according to a theme that you choose.
3. You will be judged on the creativity of you theme.
4. When you choose the theme, you need to give names for your family memebers. Be creative. You will be also judged on how creative you are in using names to back up and prove your theme
5. The names MUST be on the database-- HOWEVER- I may make exceptions-- just make a post under the "Name Exceptions" Section.
6. PLEASE do not look at anyone else's entry. I can not see this, please, keep your honor.
7. Only one middle name allowed. Nicknames may be listed at the end, but the nicknames can not be the sole reason for the theme.
8. You have until midnight Friday, EST (New York City Time) to enter.
9. Once you Submit an entry, you can NOT submit again. Typos may be changed, but that is IT.
10. Enjoy!
Hints and Suggestions
1. Don't forget about the FLOW off the names
2. Don't use alliteration and letter themes
3. Don't just randomly throw two names together
4. Ensure the names are being used properly (ie Dont put a Jewish FN with a Hindu MN). Try to stick to one "style" of names.
5. Think creatively. Go through some lists of names, and see what meanings come up quite often

The theme: Indian (and/or Sanskrit) Colour Supreme being Names..The Family:
DH: Swaran Ajit
DW: Sonal Amita
DS: Kishan Anupam
DD: Nila Durga
DD: Shyama Nitya
DS/DD: Arjun Amar and Gauri Amrita(the first names: colours)
Swaran and Sonal, the parents, both mean "golden"
Kishan, Nila and Shyama all have the word "dark" in their meaning, (black dark, dark blue and dark black blue, which also makes a nice follow-up for sibs (from black and blue to black blue, I hope you can follow that!)) and Arjun and Gauri both mean "white" in Sanskrit, so also colours (and very twinny).(the middle names: i didn't know how to categorize (sp.?) this, so i named it "supreme beings" names, well you'll understand)
Ajit means "invincible", Amita means "unmeasurable, infinite", Anupam means "incomparable", Durga means "unattainable", Nitya means "always, eternal" (accent on the eternal), and Amar and Amrita both mean "immortal" (and ofcourse, start with the same letter), very very twinny don't you think? The flowing: i have no idea! I can only guess how I think the names could be pronounced, so i tried, but you know that lots better than i do, so i hope i did a fairly good job!

It's been so tough! My theme: life & nature, all names are Arabic and they are in the databaseDH: Isra Khurshid
DW: Sabah AyselDS: Hadi Samad
DD: Nawra 'Aisha
DD: Almas Saniyya
DS/DD: Faraj Ghayth / Raja TasneenThe idea is that Isra and Sabah are the reason why their children are alive, their night and day.
Hadi has a special meaning, to be the guide of his siblings for eternity.
The other children have names with nature meanings + names that show the way that "piece" of nature is seen... so you can make a phrase with positive meanings.
Faraj and Raja share the j.

Nice marquee! :)My theme: Happy, Joyful JewsDH: Asher Ronen
DW: Mehetabel Simcha
DS: Gil Ronen
DD: Simcha Ron
DD: Abagail Rina
DS/DD: Liron Selig /Aliza FreydeAsher, Tabby, Gil, Simcha, Abby, Liron, LizaReasoning:
This family is a traditional Russian Jewish family, because they use some Yiddish names. Asher is Hebrew (happy or blessed), and Ronen is also Hebrew (from Ron, "song, joy"). Mehetabel ("God makes happy") and Simcha ("happiness, joy") are also both Hebrew. Gil is Hebrew, meaning joy or happiness, and his mn (Ronen) is for his father. Simcha Ron is named for both parents (Simcha, dw's mn, Ron a feminine form of Ronen). Abagail (a father's joy) and Rina (joy) are both Hebrew. Liron (song) is Hebrew, but Selig (blessed, happy) is Yiddish. Aliza (joy) is Hebrew, although Freyde is Yiddish (joy). All names mean either happy or joy and are used by Jewish people. This was fun! :) ... ahtough lots of work! ;P
