The only Paisley I've ever seen was a girl, so it's a girl name for me. I don't like it very much.

Paisley is a "guilty pleasure" of mine. I adore it (ONLY on a boy), but wouldn't use it in real life. As a mn and to honor your relatives, though, I think it's fine.

As in Paisley, Scotland? It's a place, not a name.
If you must, use it as a male's middle name.

Well, here's another one. Paisley, while feminine sounding, is very immature sounding for a girl, and much to frilly/sissy for a boy. I think of "pansy" for a boy. If it must be used, then, as you said, use it only as a middle name, since it's a family surname.

I don't see paisley as a name at all, but as a 'colorful pattern of curved shapes' which are usually quite ugly, imo.

I don't like Paisley at all. I don't care for the sound and I don't care for the paisley design in general. I see it being unisex although I know a little girl who was almost named Paisley (she became Delaney instead after her parents asked friends and family what they thought of Paisley.)

To me, it's a male name and I'm not too fond of it.

Male, don't like it (trendy). But use it if it's a family name. :)

I would recommend using Paisley as a mn. Paisley happens to be a (very ugly imo) fabric pattern as well as a surname.
