[Opinions] Re: Sullivan & Sutton
in reply to a message by Isla
They're definitely masculine. And while I like Sullivan for a boy, I can't get past the inevitable nn Sully...not the most pleasant word!Sutton is a good word and place name. I like the look of it, and I like the way it sounds -- as a place name. However, it's awkward and far too consonanty for a person. In my accent I don't even pronounce the "o", and it just sounds ugly as a person name.I know several girls adopted from China, and the best names I've heard are Willow, Jade, and Jasmine. They kept their Chinese names as middle names.I also like the name May for a Chinese girl, because it means "beautiful" in Mandarin. (The pinyin romanization is mei, and the character is ).~ CaitEdited to include the character for mei.
