[Opinions] Dela
I've just been listening to the song "Dela (I Know Why the Dog Howls at the Moon)" by Johnny Clegg and Svuka. Dela (pronounced DAY-luh) means "content" (dunno what language it's in) and I thought it'd make a good name, wdyt?

Last summer I spent a month in SA (I live in the US) and had the wonderful experience of seeing Johnny Clegg live in Johannesburg. He sang 'Dela' and it was unbelievable. After my experience, I would definitely think about naming a girl Dela as Clegg pronounces it. I would probably use it as a mn though. BTW, I believe 'Dela' is Zulu.
As an aside, Sophie, how did u hear about Johnny Clegg?

>>>As an aside, Sophie, how did u hear about Johnny Clegg?Umm *hides face* "Dela" is on the George of the Jungle soundtrack (for those of you who haven't seen it, it's a Disney film about a Tarzan-type guy)Haven't heard any of the rest of his stuff, what's it like?S xx

I wouldn't pronounce Dela as DAY-luh, but as you would Della (Dell-uh). Dela looks incomplete to me, but I don't care for Della (too close to "Dude, you're gettin' a Dell!). If you want the pronunciation DAY-luh, then I'd suggest Dayla, but I still don't care for it.
