Greetings once again from the mad house,
We had pretty well decided after the twins that, that was it. No more children. So much for that theory... We now have another set of quads. What are the odds on that? My doctor is amazed. We are all fairly shocked. Luckily with the practices doing so well, everything is taken care of.
Will, Nate, Alex, Becca, Adam, Chris, Iain, Maura and myself are amazed to announce the birth of Andrew Phillip Craig, Sarah Ethne Madeleine, Katherine Fiona Eleanor & Harrison Morgan Monroe on April 17th. Andrew weighed 6lbs even, with Sarah and Kate (identical again) each at 5lbs even. Harry, was the smallest at 4lbs 4 ounces, but has gained more weighted more quickly than the others combined. Each are bright eyed and highly alert and all look forward to meeting you very soon.
Nate is currently in the 4th grade and when he's not in school (excelling suprisingly enough in math and not so suprisingly in English) or playing with his siblings or his seemingly adopted friend Garret (Whose mother feels the same) or playing with the dogs and other animals, is content to read, or in the winter on nice days go play hockey with his dad and younger siblings. He looks just like his dad actually. His dark hair remained as did his blue eyes and he's probably the tallest boy in his class outside of Garret.
I can't call Alex, Becca, Adam and Chris the Quads anymore, but together they're in the first grade.
Alex is probably the lackadasical student. He's clever but just doesn't like to work, so a new plan has been instituted. For him to have any activity outside of his homework he needs to finish it and show us. Then he can run along and do what he feels is important. It's being used for all of the kids, so he's not singled out but it's seeming to work. Will is also promising to teach him a hockey trick this winter if his grades are up. That may actually have done the trick. He's a charmer though, and resembles me slightly more than his father. His hair is a dark red, and he's managed his father's green eyes. He'll be breaking hearts soon enough I suppose.
Becca is quick as a whip and loves school. She's gotten to be quite popular with her classmates and the teachers at her school. Studious to a fault she does all her work and then goes to do what she wants. She's quite the tom-boy though and when she's not begging me to let her go riding on one of the horses she's following Nate and Garret around trying to do what they do. I think she has a bit of a crush of Garret actually and it's extremely cute to watch. She follows him and he tries to get away as quickly as possible. Still a Daddy's girl once he's home she's on his shoulders in a shot and it's become somewhat of a mini-ritual for them. She's actually nearly a double for me except for her eyes. she's quite tall for her age and her hair is extremely long and that strange light red color which she seems to have gotten from me.
Adam and Chris have taken to terrorizing their teacher. I should be more angry with them than I am but what they do is just simply ridiculous, particularly in pretending to be each other. They have a distinct sense of fairness and whenever one is in trouble, the other serves half of it, be it a time out or a wall punishment. In all fairness I did warn the teachers that these pranks would happen and that they shouldn't be in the same class, but there are only 3 classes and they did it alphabetically. Adam has lost what was his original shyness though he is by nature the quieter of the twins. He's slightly more studious than his brothers but still managaes to keep up with them and all their activities. Chris is still the center of attention and his sense of humour is astounding for a 6 year old. In looks they both take after their father. Dark haired and green eyed, they are definintely their father's sons.
Iain and Maura are both three and are fascinated by the newest set of quads. When one isn't by them talking to them, the other is. Iain is probably the quietest of all the kids. He's genuinely a nice little boy and goes out of his way to help people in whatever way he can. He does however have a will apparently made of iron. If he does not want to do something, it's very difficult to make him. Luckily he's fairly genial and likes to make people happy. He really does have the cutest little face and his hair is a rather shocking orangey red. Maura is the little mother of my girls. she loves dolls and now with her siblings she has real-life babies of her own. I think she my prefer the dolls in the end. :P She's a cute little thing like her brother and they share the same hair color along with the same huge blue eyes. She may be sweet but does she ever have a temper. She won't let anyone pick on her siblings and she won't let her siblings pick on her. You can see the temper build though so Will and I have gotten pretty adept at stopping conflict in it's tracks.
With the huge set of additions we've had to make a second move to a larger home and in turn a larger property. It's another old Victorian and it's also handily right down the street from here. It has a grand total of 9 bedrooms. Nate upon agreement has his own room. Alex and Iain share, as do Adam and Chris, and Becca and Maura do as well. The newer quads are luckily divided evenly so that will go the same way. There is one bedroom that will remain as a spare and soon enough we'll convert the carriage house for some extra room space. The barn is huge and there's even a creek that runs through the fields. It's massive but we love every inch of it.
Someone brought in a dog to the clinic several weeks ago and said they had just found him on the side of the road. After multiple weeks of ads out no owner has been found, and he was so sweet we decided to keep him. He's what seems to be a pure-bred German Shepherd, and in accordance, Siegfried or as Iain has dubbed him, Fred. He absolutely adores the kids but seems to have taken a particular liking to Iain. He patrols the kids constantly, and they all love him to death. He's really become one of the family.
