[Opinions] Finn
I really like this name but think it's too quirky as a first name so what are other options so i can add this nickname if my child chooses to want it?

My favorites are Finlay and Finnian, but I also like just Finn. It's a great name.

Well, I love Finn and I'm strongly considering Finnegan as a fn for a boy (maybe Finley for either a boy or a girl)- Hopefully it won't become too popular because of Julia Roberts & the other celebs who now seem to love them!! But if you're not sure about it, I would go with something very traditional as a fn & have that as a mn, ala Benjamin Finn, to give you options.
Here are all the Finn type names I could think of:
Finnegan
Finley / Finlay
Finnian
Finn
Phinehas / Phineas (not Phinneaus as Julia Roberts spelt it)
Ffion
Jaclyn, wife to Kyle (06/25/04).

I love the name Finnegan for a boy with Finn as the nickname.

I like all Finn- names, but I also think Finn could stand alone. I will perhaps use it as a mn, I like the combo Simon Finn very much.

I like Finn on both genders, but it's far too popular on boys now where I live (Scotland) so I'd only actually use it on a girl, probably as a nickname for Finnéadan (fin-AY-din). If I did use it for a boy, it'd be as a nn for Finnian, but I prefer no nn for Finnian.

I like it- for a girl. I wouldn't name my kids this though. Only if the father really liked it. It's one of my favorites actually. Oh, and Gizette, could you not use run-on sentences? It's hard to read.

I don't care for any Finn names, as I think they're weak. Plus, I don't think a formal name should revolve around a nickname. Planning should only be spent on formal names, and not nicknames. Then it's as if you're settling on a formal name, only because it births a pleasant nickname. Anyway, Finlay comes to mind.
