[Facts] Names for Chinese students
Hi, 1st time poster needing help.
I'm a teacher in China and a number of students have asked me to give them English names . . . .of course to make my life more difficult when I give them a name they always ask the meaning.
If anyone has any suggestions (male or female) for Chinese students then they'd be welcomed. Probably ones with meanings like 'successful', 'powerful', 'Rich', 'Handsome' etc etc would go down well.

'Successful', 'powerful', 'Rich', 'Handsome' ? Happily the days when people named their children "Traktor" and "Five-Year-Plan" are gone for good :)
Well the simplest approach would be to use the "search" function at the main page http://www.behindthename.com/, ticking "search for meaning"

I also am teaching several groups of chinese students who want good names. How do I explain to them that the name "Bobo" doesnt really have a meaning(much less a point)?

...is Bobo not a nick of Robert (via Bob)?
