I am trying to find the origin/meaning/connection of these two names. I have learned that Moriah might be from the Bible meaning "bitterness of the Lord". But, I've seen church signs saying "Mt. Moriah" which doesn't make much sense if that meaning is correct.
I've also learned that Mariah could be a derivitive of Maria. Is this the same name as we hear in the song verse "and they call the Wind Mariah"?
