[Facts] Well
So long as when you say English/Irish, you mean people who speak English or Irish, you're quite right. English-speaking people would include Wales, but more pertinently it would include the US, Canada and Australia, which is where this name is most popular and was probably first used...In fact, asked for the origin of this name myself, I'd be more likely to say American.From my perspective here in Wales, Erin is by no means a Welsh name, either culturally or in terms of usage...:)
