[Facts] Re: help find meaning
in reply to a message by Brayden
Brayden is most likely a modern spelling of the Irish surname Braden. This is an anglicization of the name Ó Bradáin, which comes from a personal name meaning "salmon."

In pursuing my genealogical research I have been interested to note that a great many Bradens came from Ireland. I have always believed what I read in a reference book on surnames that it is an English name (Saxon from N. England meaning a "broad valley") I would love to get some feedback on this. Thanks,
