[Opinions] Ally as a nickname for Adelheid?
What do you think of that? And how does the nickname itself sound to you? Do you find Ally cute, or do you find it too common?

Not a fan of Adelheid or Ally, sorry. But I see that it could be a possible nn for it.

I think Ally is a reasonable enough nn for Adelheid, though I don't care for Ally itself.

Since Alice is from Adelheid / Adelheidis, then I guess I can see Ally as a nn. To me, nns are the place for creativity, whimsy, affection. As long as the child is given a decent formal name to fall back on, one they can be proud of, pretty much any nn is fine by me. (P.S. I love the name Adelheid.)

I think Ally could work as a nn for Adelheid, yep.But I think Ally's way too common, and it sounds childish to me. I prefer Heidi or maybe Adel / Adele if you're going with Adelheid. I would also suggest Alice--because Alice was originally a short form of Adelheid--but today Alice seems like too much of a stretch to be a nn for anything.

Adelheid is nice but I would use Heidi as a nn, Ally is plausible but I find it too cutesy and whiney sounding alice x

I'm rather liberal with nns, so I think Ally for Adelheid is fine. Yet I think this name has more possibilities: Ada, Heidi, etc.

I like Ally. It's the name of my cousin (though I found out recently it's spelt Ali, because his father was a Muslim - when I was younger, I didn't know this and spelt it "Alley"). I think Ally would work okay for Adelheid, too.
