Don't particularly like either name, but I would still go with Emilio, before I went with Emile. I agree that some might see Emile as a creative spelling of Emily and that also would put me off using the name. It think Emilio is fine for a caucasian baby. I know of an Irish comedian, who is married to an Australian lady (nice choice!) and they have a daughter called Rose and a son called Mario! Mario, as you will know is not Irish or Australian, but so what?! They thought it was a cute name, so they used it, which is fair enough.
