I prefer Emilio, but I do think it'd raise eyebrows on a Caucasian child since it's so obviously Italian.
I strongly dislike Emile - the "meel" sound is whiney and unattractive to me. I can see most English-speakers pronouncing it eh-MEEL, which would only emphasise that. Having said that, I think Emile would work better on a child with no French heritage, than Emilio on a child with no Italian heritage.
