I say MAY-buh-leen, like the cosmetics brand._____________________________________________________________________"Dream like you'll live forever. Live like you'll die today."Elinor

Like everyone else, I think of the make-up line. And that is pronounced as either MAY-beh-leen or evenly as may-beh-leen. I also think of the judge on Divorce Court (a court/reality show on TV filmed in the U.S.) named Mablean Ephriam (that's the spelling I found on the show's web site). But it sounds just like Maybelline. :b

may-buh-LEENMaybelline's the name of a prominent cosmetics brand here, unfortunately. I would like the name if it weren't for the make-up.

I'd pronounce it entirely may-buh-leen. (Cause of the way the make-up is pronounced.) And that's why I don't like it as a human name, simply because I think make-up, when hearing or seeing the name.

I would pronounce is "MAY-buh-leen." I love the name Mabel, but Maybelline will always be a cut-rate cosmetic company or a campy rock and roll song (by Chuck Berry.)You asked how it would be pronounced in English. Are you French? German? Spanish? Other? (I'm from the U.S., so maybe someone from the U.K. would have a different take on this name in English.)

we pronounce it the same, May-buh-leen. It is the name of a common make up line in america so I wouldn't use it. It seems a bit over the top to me.
