I don't know it exactly, but I would guess Kroatian, Serbian or Bosnian. They have got surnames like Lukic, Nikolic, Simic, Tomic, Maric, Juric etc. which are pronounced the same way (-itsj or itsh) like Lekic.

Hm I have the same name! and I don't now, but I think you live in the USA ... so the name Tomic is originally from Croatia and from the former Yugoslavia
