[Opinions] Claudia ...
WDYT of the name Claudia?I've liked it for some time now, and it will most likely be the name of a main character in a story that I'm working on. However I'm also starting to like it as a possibility for a child one day.Does the meaning bother you at all?

The meaning doesn't bother me at all and I think it's a beautiful name.

The name Claudia is a very pretty name. dont let the meaning bother you too much. The character of the child reflects more on the name than its meaning. I would like Claudia even more if you put like Claudia-Mae as a first name. that is cute!

I don't let the meanings of names bother me, as it doesn't mean the child will reflect the name, and most likely, people will not know the meaning of the name. And, if they did, who cares? No one should judge a person based upon the meaning of their name.Claudia is an OK name - not a favorite, but I can tolerate it.

The meaning doesn't bother me.I rather like it. It's very elegant, so much in fact that I can't imagine anyone but a girly-girl carrying the name. But it's still a lovely name. And I think it's managed to escape being swept up among the trendy classic names. At least so far.

I really like it. Usually, meaning is very important to me, but I just love Claudia so much it almost doesn't matter.

Nope. I know a girl named Klaudia,I like it pronounced KLOW-dee-a rather than KLAW-dee-a.

I like it when it's pronunced CLOUD-ee-yah. I remember reading that it's the German pronunciation? I think the nickname Cloudy would be really sweet. With the CLAW-dee-ah pronunciation, it's still fine, but I don't like it quite so well. I think the name is fabulous either way, meaning be damned. I'd be more bothered by its similarity to Claudius, but that's mainly because I read Hamlet so recently. :)Array
