What do you think of this name? It's my favorite city in the world, though I am not sure I am too keen on the name. Would Firenze be better or worse? I am virtually certain I won't end up using it, but it's just something that came to mind. I suppose that since Lola, Hazel and Lucy are popular, then Florence can't be too far behind.

I like this name. I like Firenze too, but only on a boy.

I like Florence, only for a girl and really only as a mn. If used as a fn, the poor kid would get called Flo, which is not really that nice. I like Lola, Hazel and Lucy too and yeah, I agree, we probably will hear more of Florence in the future.

I don't much like it myself - was just thinking of it because I love the city and wish I could think of some name related to it to use. Fiorentina is the name of their soccer team. I don't know ... I suppose I'll just have to visit more often in lieu of naming a child after it!

I can only think of the nickname Flo, and the character of Flo on "Alice" in the 70s who would say "Kiss my Grits"! Sorry. Maybe as a middle name?

Firenze would be worse

I think Florence is a unisex name, and is kinda ugly but I've heard worse.
