According to my husband's bible dictionary, Rachel means:
"Rachel (raw-kale'); from an unused root meaning to journey; a ewe (the females being the predominant element of a flock] (as a good traveler);
KJV -- ewe, sheep"
I've also heard it means "bound." Hope this helps.
