Help[Surname] Dornin?
Can anyone possibly verify the ethnicity of this surname? It looks like its Russian, but it could also be Irish.

Dornin is an Irish surname, though that doesn't rule out the possibility of its independent existence in other languages and cultures.
There are three possible Irish language originals - Ó Doirnín and Ó Duirnín, which I think are likely to be two versions of the same surname; and Ó Dornáin, which may or may not be a third version of the same name. All belong to the province of Ulster, and all are ancestral names based on the word DORN, meaning "fist".
