Although I was overwhelmed enough with five kids, Miles and I have brought another child into our brood. I am extremely happy with this decision. We have adopted Sorin Emilian from Romania, a loving, shy little boy.
I feel as though I am finally being the mother I dreamed of being. Don't get me wrong, I tried my hardest to be the best mom possible for Attie, Tenn, Holden, Vi, and Adelaide, but now I feel I am at the perfect age and career point to be a mother to Sorin. Every thing in general has just improved for me I guess. Miles and I have mended our rocky relationship. He is only touring sporatically, which has actually made people even more interested in his music and boosted sales. At the same time, this has allowed me to get back to modeling gradually. The kids have really matured as well. Although it is very hectic at times, having five kids ages 6-12 and one young child is a lot easier than five children under 6!!!
We had a great routine down, and don't get me wrong, Sorin through it for a loop. The kids all love him very much though, and he was immediately welcomed. We decided to adopt him after a family trip through Europe. After seeing how impovershed so many kids are, we felt that we should do something to help. I fell in love with Sorin.
There have been many celebrity adoptions lately, but ours was even bigger. Because our family was already so large, people thought we were done having kids... as did we. So, it was shocking to see us with a new young child. We were on the cover of People, and Sorin is still getting used to all of the attention and camera flashes.
