Yaz-Min

YAZ-min, like the brand of birth control. :b Yasmine can be pronounced that way or as yas-MEEN. Yasmin probably can, too, it just seems more phonetic to me to prn. it with the short "i".

In Britain I've heard YAZZ-min several times. Never yaz-MEEN, except maybe on a Muslim girl. I'd prefer the spelling Yasmine for that. Yasmina is also really nice :-)

My best friend is called Yasmin, and she pronounces it YAZ-min.

I prn is JAZ-min. :o) I have a Puerto Rican friend named Jessica who went to school with a Yazmin prn Jasmine. In PR, Jessica was prn HAYS-ee-kah.

My 2nd guess would be yaz-MEEN.

I say YAZ-min.
But I pronouce Yasmine differently, I say yaz-MEEN.

I tend to pronounce it yaz-MEEN.

All the Yasmin's I have ever known (including the Arabic ones) say YAS-min, not YAZ-min, but it's all up to personal preference and accent.

I think it can be either, but I pronounce it YAZ-min.
