[Opinions] Lucy
WDYT of Lucy? I used to not think much of it, then I loved, then it was okay, and now it's really growing on me again. I know some people probably think of someone who is "loose" when they hear it, but this doesn't both me at all. Any combo suggestions? I like Lucy Pearl. Or, with it as a mn, Freya Lucy -- too many Ys?

I love LucyI think it is a classic name. I also like the French spelling Lucie, but then it should be pronounced "Lu-SEE".Lucy Pearl is pretty. And Freya Lucy too. I don't see the problem with two Y's, since the Y's are pronounced differently (as a consonant in Freya, as a vowel in Lucy).

I LOVE the name Lucy! It's a fave of mine. I also love the combo Lucy Pearl. I'd thought of that combo myself and fell in love with it. Freya Lucy is nice too, but I still prefer Lucy Pearl.

I love Lucy, but prefer Lucia (loo-CHEE-a)Lucy is slightly too sweet for me. I do not like Pearl at all... I think of a gossipy, midwestern woman. Lucy Augusta springs to mind, Lucy Alexandra, Lucy Lavender (maybe a bit cute), Lucy Amarante, Lucy Rose...LIza

Eliza Lucy is great. I really like that. The other names there are very nice too. Isn't a name on that list I don't like. :)

The name reminds me of my gossipy next door neighbor, or a goose.

Lucy is a nickname to me and does not have any formal name quality to it. I don't see why it's become so popular as a formal name. It's so immature sounding to me. I prefer Lucille with Lucy as a nickname. I'd prefer Lucille Pearl or Pearla Lucille.Edit: Spelling.

I adore the name Lucy and associate it with Lucille Ball who's my favorite actress. As for combos it looks like you're leaning more toward old fashioned names. I usually prefer combos with more of a syllable difference. For example, a 1 syllable first name paired w/ a three syllable middle name or vice versa. I hope that makes sense. It's kind of hard to explain.

I used to think it had to be a nn for Lucille, etc. But I much prefer just Lucy now. I don't think of "loose" but I would probably call a Lucy "Luce" at times. :b I LOVE Lucy Pearl, and I love Freya but Freya Lucy sounds strange imo.

Yeah, I actually don't care much for Freya Lucy. It popped into my head and I typed it up without really thinking about it, lol.

I love the name Lucy, though I prefer it as a nickname for Lucia. I've always thought of a Lucy as being sweet and quiet, not "loose" at all. Lucy Pearl is okay. I really don't like Lucy as a middle name though. -Amy-

I've always found Lucy to be short for something and not a complete firstname.To me,it's a short version of Lucile,Luciana,Lucia etc{Its a lovely nickname though}

Lucy is a formal name, just like MaryMary is the English form of Maria, not a nn for Maria. Likewise, Lucy is the English form of Lucia.
