[Opinions] WDYT of Meade
What do you think of the name Meade? I was thinking this as a middle name for the baby if its a girl!! Bessie got June as its my mum's middle name and she was born in June. Meade is Ben's sisters middle name and he is very close to her.

Nice idea, esp. as it's a mn.

I don't like Meade. It seems weird to me because it's my boyfriend's last name. It makes me think of telescopes. But as a mn & honoring someone, I guess it's okay.

Reminds me of a text book or school supplies

I know a guy named Meade, so I don't mind it, but I like it for a boy! :)

It's great as a middle name.

I like it.For either a girl or a boy. I think of Margaret Mead, and she was pretty cool. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Mead

This name would sound nice as a middle name. I wouldn't use it as a first name though. I actually like it.Thanks

My immediate thought......is "beer".
lol :p
But honoring is nice and if it's middle name you probably won't have a problem.

Ditto, but the name does sound pretty and the honoring is sweet.

I agree. I thought of a Falstaff-like group of medieval guys sitting around a table ordering mead.

I like Meade / Mead but for a boy

I like it.I think it strikes me as a sweet middle name partially because it's that of my cousin, Jenny Meade. I believe it's a family name from her mother's (my aunt through marriage) side. But I do like it for aesthetic purposes as well; it's interesting, sweet, and subtle, IMO. I think it would make a very nice middle name, particularly alongside your daughter's name. :-)Would you every consider Meade for a boy? It is unisex, after all.

First of all, Bessie is so cute! What a great job you did with Elisabeth June, nn Bessie. Meade isn't my favorite. It reminds me of a military base here in the U.S. But you like it, it's a family name and you're thinking about putting it in the mn position. So Meade gets a thumbs up from me. Afterall, who am I to second guess a mother of a Bessie? :-)

P.S.I just clicked on Meade and discovered that it is related to the word meadow. How about Meadow as a way to honor your sister in law?
