What are your top 5 names for girls?: Sunniva, Indira, Ophelia, Aviva and Nova.
What are your top 5 names for boys?: Rocco, Gideon, Milo, Caspian and Roman.
What are your idea of "filler" names?: I hate names like Leigh and Jo being used as mns and think that most parents could choose much better mns for their children. Those are the only two that I can think of that I consider filler names. Names like Rose, Lily and Anne are acceptable first names, IMO, not just "filler names".
What is your least favorite name for each gender?: Preston and Emma.
What is your absoulute favorite name for each gender? Rocco and Sunniva.
What is your usual naming style? I don't have a particular style, I just like what I like. Right now though, I love short boys names particularlt those ending in O eg. Milo, Rocco, etc and with girls, I love unusual names with soft, feminine sounds and great meanings.
Do you use name generators? No.
Do you write stories? No.
For pets do you prefer traditional "people" names or non-traditional "pet" names? I like people names on pets. I hate when people name cats fluffy and snowy and things like that. That just shows how creative some people can be!

What are your top 5 names for girls?: umm.. these tend to change. At the moment they are Evadne, Annora, Susanna, Celia and Miranda
What are your top 5 names for boys?: well these change to. At the moment they are Caspian, David, Esmond, Nathaniel, and Laurence
What are your idea of "filler" names?: names that were chosen because they "sound good" or were chosen just because they needed a name. For example, if they couldn't come up with a name they'd just plonk Rose in there because it sounds pretty, with no family or inspirational reason whatsoever.
What is your least favorite name for each gender?: Caleb (not because of the meaning, because I can't stand the sound I make when I say it) and Madison.
What is your absoulute favorite name for each gender? well I don't do absolute fave names. I love names, my PL is very long. I suppose my longest favourite is Anisa (best friends name) and David, but my favourites change.
What is your usual naming style? My "usual" is whatever I like, I don't have a reason for liking a name. I like names that are not overused, have meaning to me and/or I like the sound of. I also like names that I can picture on a person of any age.
Do you use name generators? Not really, just the one on Btn when bored
If so, what are the web adresses for the generators you use?
Do you write stories? Yes, that is why I came here. Then I got hooked on names and I've been dwindling off the writing board recently.. must try and get back to posting there... but anyway
If so, does your character naming style differ from what you would normally use? Of course. The characters are named by their parents of guardians, so if their style is bibilical or creative for whatever reason then that's what their name shall be like. I'd never call a child Janelle, but one of my characters was.

1. Grant

What is your usual naming style? I like the more old-fashioned really elegant names for girls (Evelyn, Scarlet, Vivian, Grace, Gloria, Faith) and the names that used to be considered really masculine for guys (Lincoln, Madison, Lyndon, Grant, Walter)

Isabel, Josephine, Rosamund, Harriet, Cecilia
What are your top 5 names for boys?:

What is your least favorite name for each gender?:

What is your absoulute favorite name for each gender?
Charles and Isabel

Nope

Before this year I would have said the non-traditional but we've not got two cats with 'people' names.
Example?
Our old cats were Pepsi and Smudge. Our cats now are Oscar and Jess (though Jess was named when we got her and Oscar was originally Jack).
I've decided I'm going to call my future cats Fitzwilliam, Georgiana, Bluebell and Shrek so a mixture there :)

Rose, Elizabeth, Faith, Lily, Grace. Just because I think they go with most other names. I really like filler names, btw. What is your least favorite name for each gender?
The most awful name for a boy has got to be 'Bunney'. *shudder* The name I really hate for a girl is Gurtrude. What is your absoulute favorite name for each gender?
Erm...at the moment Scarlett for a girl, I think. Aidan for a boys. What is your usual naming style?
All different really. I like a lot of English names, and French names. I also think that name meanings are really important, the meaning of the name sometimes sways my decsion of whether I like it or not.
Do you use name generators?
Nope.Do you write stories?
Yes.If so, does your character naming style differ from what you would normally use?
Totally. I use names I like, but wouldn't call my own children. Like, Azura, River, Bellatrix, Cecelia, Ciara, Diamond, Lilith, Octavia, Lyra, Narcissa. For pets do you prefer traditional "people" names or non-traditional "pet" names?
I like both.Example?
My pet Rabbits were called, Sniffer, Smudge and Scamp. However, my pet dogs are called Poppy and Harry. Thanks, good quiz.

What are your top 5 names for girls?: This is difficult and kind of arbitrary. First names: Charlotte, Adele, Judith, Maria, Alice. But I wouldn't use Charlotte or Maria. What are your top 5 names for boys?: Simon, Ivan, Milo, Ferdinand, Henry, Theodore, Gideon, Hugo. Wouldn't use Henry. What are your idea of "filler" names?: On girls (all I can think of): Elizabeth, Anne or Ann, Nicole, Rose, Leigh or Lee, Lynn, Marie. Boys are usually Alexander or William, though I like these much more than the girls'. Umm I think they're a complete waste of the mn slot. I wish these parents would let me name their kids. What is your least favorite name for each gender?: Hard, but I'd say Kristen or Kayla, and Braxton or Blake. (Not counting creative spellings and that kind of thing.)What is your absolute favorite name for each gender? Charlotte, Simon. What is your usual naming style? Recognizable/normal/traditional but distinctive first names (why I wouldn't use Charlotte or Henry), fun/ridiculous middle names.

Do you use name generators? NoDo you write stories? YesIf so, does your character naming style differ from what you would normally use? Yes, it varies from story to story. I like using names I don't like very much because I wouldn't use them otherwise. (That doesn't make a lot of sense, I know.) Even my imaginary friends have names I don't like very much. There was a story I wrote where all the characters had word names (main characters Extra, Concept, Dimenuendo "Fade," Cadence before it was popular, Incident, Twig), and I love making up science fiction names. And then ordinary people stories are usually ordinary but slightly off-beat names. For pets do you prefer traditional "people" names or non-traditional "pet" names? Uhh, I don't know. I like ridiculous names for pets. I'd never name one, say, Chloe or Max - how boring! I guess I like people names, or else really evocative word names, or something. I'm not impressed when people name their dog Horse or Cat or something, it's not very creative.Example? My dogs are Fidel and Che, which fits them well. Can't think of any more. Robespierre would be a good dog name. So would Deathrock Lavacorpse. Or, I don't know, Mercury.

Do you use name generators? No.
Do you write stories? Not as a habit, though yes, occasionally.
If so, does your character naming style differ from what you would normally use? Yes and no. Different characters carry different styles, though it ultimately depends upon the story.
For pets do you prefer traditional "people" names or non-traditional "pet" names? Both.
Example? I like stranger human names for dogs/birds: Vercingetorix, Ninian, Nimrod, etc. For cuter pets (and cats) ordinary human names: Emmeline, Toby. I also really appreciate the irony of the small type of goldfish traditional gaurd-dog names like Bruno or Rex, and I mean to do it if I ever get the chance. :P

What are your top 5 names for girls?:
Jean, Adelle, Faith, Rose, ZaraWhat are your top 5 names for boys?:
Daniel, Rowan, Lewis, Matthew, BenedictWhat are your idea of "filler" names?:
♦ 'Filler names' is a subjective concept. If I had a daughter and gave her the middle name Anne, most people would roll their eyes and say "filler, couldn't think of anything better". But for me, the name Anne means "dear friend of the family who died when I was 15". The same goes for any of the traditional fillers: John, James, Matthew, Rose, Marie, Louise etc: they may be common but they can still be extremely significant to people So while there are many very common middle names, I'm hesitant to declare any of them exclusively "fillers".What is your least favorite name for each gender?:
♦ Boys: Jesse or Jake. Girls: Anything that's rightfully a surname or a boys' name (Mackenzie, Hunter etc ad infinitum). What is your absoulute favorite name for each gender?
♦ Boys: Daniel. Girls: Jean. What is your usual naming style?

♦ NoIf so, what are the web adresses for the generators you use?
♦ N/ADo you write stories?
♦ YesIf so, does your character naming style differ from what you would normally use?
♦ Absolutely. I don't want to use up my favourite names on characters, and I'm also fanatical about ensuring that my characters' names are appropriate for the time period, which most of mine wouldn't be (I write either otherworld fantasy or modern childrens' fantasy crossovers, so most of my names are either made up, or they're popular names from the 1990s (kids) and 1960s (parents).

Not really. Except for I don't just use my favorite names: I use names that fit the characters. But I tend to use names I like, just because I'll have to be writing them down a lot!
For pets do you prefer traditional "people" names or non-traditional "pet" names?
I prefer some of both.
Example?
I think Snickerdoodle is a cute name. However, I'd be tempted to use Cordelia, Estella, Cressida, Jenna, or someting. (note: those just popped into my ead, lol)

What are your top 5 names for girls?: Millicent, Beatrix/Beatrice, Delilah, Cordelia, Winifred, Matilda (yes, that is six, seven depending on how you count)
What are your top 5 names for boys?: Henry, Charles, Augustus, Leopold, Edgar
What are your idea of "filler" names?: Usually middle names-names that are over used as mns, names that are easy to use as mn because they sound good with almost anything (the reason they became fall back names in the first place!) Elizabeth, Grace, Marie, Louise, Michael, James, Joseph, Brian
What is your least favorite name for each gender?: Jonathan, I can't explain why I hate this name. I think it is the only name I truly hate. At least the only one I've consistantly hated. I don't have a disliked girls name. OH! Miranda. I dislike that name.
What is your absoulute favorite name for each gender? Aside from Adelaide and George(my childrens names) Today it would be Millicent and Henry. Millie and Harry.
What is your usual naming style? Ummm, the name-raiding-the-old-folks-home style? Is that a style?
Do you use name generators? nope
If so, what are the web adresses for the generators you use?
Do you write stories? sometimes
If so, does your character naming style differ from what you would normally use? I use names that I wouldn't actually use for any future children. Still tend to shy away from super trendy and creative names. I try to find names that suit the characters(shocking, I know), and since I made up their personalities I have a little more leeway than real life, when I can only guess or hope as to who or what a child will someday be or become.

For the first two, it varies! But I'll say what they are right now...What are your top 5 names for girls?: Ingrid, Margaret, Martha, Abigail, Judith
What are your top 5 names for boys?: Gideon, Theodoric, Mortimer, Bartholomew, Raphael
What are your idea of "filler" names?: Emma, Rose, Grace, Marie. Marie is the one in my family. My cousin is Erin Maire, her mother is Elaine Marie, HER mother is Elaine Marie, my mother (the younger Elaine's twin) is Janice Marie, I wouldn't be surprised if their brother was Paul Marie!
What is your least favorite name for each gender?: Right now, I think...Nevaeh (or maybe Kaylee) and...Jayden. Maybe.
What is your absoulute favorite name for each gender? Maybe...Ingrid and Bartholomew. It will change.
What is your usual naming style? I guess I tend toward older names. I also tend to really like Biblical names, and German names.
Do you use name generators? Yep.
If so, what are the web adresses for the generators you use?
http://www.nymbler.com/
...and the BtN name generator.
Do you write stories? Yes, all the time.
If so, does your character naming style differ from what you would normally use? Hm...sometimes, depending on the story. In the novel I'm trying to eck out the last few chapters of (stupid long thing), it did: the names were ones I liked but wouldn't necessarily use. The main characters are Eleanor, Gregory, Gaia, Zenith (also called Thalia), Simon, William and Catherine.
For pets do you prefer traditional "people" names or non-traditional "pet" names? People names.
Example? My siamese cats are named Rosie and Cathy.

What are your top 5 names for girls?: Evening (Evey), Eve (Evey), Ruxandra (Ruxi), Katharine (Kitty), and...oh, heck, let's say Scarlet Carson (Essie) to make five. What are your top 5 names for boys?: Morpheus (Morph), Ptolemy (Ptolly), Edmond (Eddy), Nathaniel (Nat), and...hm. Shall we say Winslow today? Sure. We'll say Winslow. What are your idea of "filler" names?: Names chosen with no real thought behind them--just because some name was required right there. It could be Marie, or it could be Iphigenia, but if it was picked just because Mum and Dad needed something in the MN spot, it's filler to me. After all, my middle name is Rae, a typically "filler" mn, but it is definitely not filler in my case. It was chosen for a very specific reason, and I'm proud to bear it.What is your least favorite name for each gender?: Probably Madison and Joshua, but I don't focus on names I dislike. What's the point in that? What is your absoulute favorite name for each gender? Rae for a girl, Ray for a boy. No matter how wildly my tastes might change, I will definitely be using one of these for a child of mind. What is your usual naming style? You tell me. It's eclectic enough that I don't have an answer. Perhaps "eclectic" sums it up well enough.Do you use name generators? No. I can't go searching for names to like--they have to come to me.If so, what are the web adresses for the generators you use? There are generators I've used, but I'm too lazy to look them up for you.Do you write stories? Yes, but this isn't really relevant. If so, does your character naming style differ from what you would normally use? Duh? I mean, my characters' parents are not me. It would be entirely illogical if my characters all had names in my "style" just because they were my characters. They would more than likely end up with completely illogical, inappropriate names, which would jar my readers out of the story, thus making me a failure as a writer.
