[Opinions] Monica...
WDYTO Monica and Erica? Which do you prefer? I like Erica (though I wouldn't name my daughter that) and Monica is growing on me.

I think Ms. Lewinsky has ruined the name for all of us Monica lovers. Maybe in a few more years it won't matter. I doubt it, though. It's in the history books.I do love both Monica and Erica.

I used to love Monica when I was younger. I still like it, but I would never use it. Erica is nmsaa. :)

I love the name Monica! I think it has such a lovely, feminine sound and isn't overly used. It's been one of my favorites for a long time, and I have some great associations with it. Gorgeous :-)Erica, on the other hand, seems 70s/80s dated to me and isn't my style.

Well Monica still instantly makes me think of Monica on Friends, but it's not really my style at all.I know 2 Erica's, one is my sister in law and mum to my new neice Bella, and the other is a friend. Personally, I like the name.Erica over Monica def.

well...Monica still reminds me of Monica Lewinsky even though I liked Clinton. so i couldn't use it. I love Erica, and would consider it because I like the meaning and sound. even though it's quite 80's.

I think of the same person. :-(

I like it only as a full name for the nickname Mona, which I love.
Besides that, I have to agree with Isla and Julia... they're both very eighties

Ha it's kind of funny I know a Monica and Erica who are best friends (we call them Mary Kate and Ashley sometimes in referance to the Olsen twins). I much prefer Monica, Erica, as Isla said seems dated, but I think Monica is nice, and I have only ever known two. I ama fan of St. Monica so I am all for it.

Monica is lovely and is one of my favorites although for me it is unusable as it is my cousins name.Erica isn't my style.

I'm not fond of either, sorry. They both seem dated to the 1970s-80s.

I know an Erika, and she's really nice. The name's okay, I wouldn't name my child that... I'd like something with more meaning than a feminine Eric.Monica is okay too. It brings to mind someone kind of mean though. I guess I like Erica better.

Erica/ Erika is Latin for heather.

That's the only thing that makes the name Erica slightly interesting to me. But mostly it just makes me think of the 1980s and Erica Kane from "All My Children". :-/ BTW, there were twins named Erica and Heather on the old Degrassi tv show.

I love Monica! It's one of my favorite names. I don't like the way Erica looks. I much prefer Erika. I still think Monica is nicer than Erika though.

Personally I prefer Erica. Monica strongly reminds of the character off friends. Also, I find it sounds quite harsh.Eleanor x
