[Facts] KARNA more than an Indian name?
BTH lists KARNA as an Indian name, meaning "ear."Now I just met an American woman in her 30s with ancestors from south Sweden, and she said her name was a Danish variant of KAREN. - Can anybody confirm this?

My Swedish name dictionary (Svenska fornamn by Roland Otterbjork, published in 1979) says that Karna is indeed a "southern Swedish" form of Karin. That book states that in southern Sweden Elna is also a form of Elena or Elina, and Marna is a form of Marina.
