[Opinions] Alicia?
This popped into my head yesterday at work. It used to be on my list, but I'd forgotten how much I like it. But I'm torn on how best to spell and pronounce it, lol. A few questions . . .
Do you prefer a-LEE-sha or a-LEE-see-uh?
Do you like Alicia or Alecia better, or some other spelling?
Do you think Alecia would encourage the second pronunciation more than Alicia would?
General thoughts / impressions / stories etc?
Thanks in advance :-)

I prefer it pronounced a-LEE-see-uh, hands down...
I prefer the Alicia spelling and think that regardless of spelling, there will likely be pronunciation confusion.
This name is very nineties to me... my sister considered this for my niece, but I was able to talk her into Alice, which is much more timeless and sweet in my opinion.

Do you prefer a-LEE-sha or a-LEE-see-uh? I go back and forth. My strongest connection with it is a video game character who pronounced it a-LEE-sha, but I've known people who pronounce it a-LEE-see-uh. I don't really have a preference.
Do you like Alicia or Alecia better, or some other spelling? I prefer Alicia. Alecia looks strange to me, and it makes me want to say AYL-see-uh or a-LES-ee-uh or something.
Do you think Alecia would encourage the second pronunciation more than Alicia would? See above.
General thoughts / impressions / stories etc? I think it's a lovely name, if a little dated (all the Alicia's I've known are around my age).

I don't know how they get A-LEE-SHA from Alicia, I always say A-LEE-see-uh.
I know three Alicias, and I dislike 2 of them they are bad connections for me.

a-LEE-sha....alicia...both are nice. They will both often times be mis-pronounced though.
ah-LEE-see-ah, I suppose, but I thoroughly hate the name, sorry. ah-LEESH-ah has an extremely lower-class and trashy vibe here and ah-LEE-see-ah has a very pretentious and "I'm so much better than you, so you can't say ah-LEESH-ah. I'm making you say ah-LEE-see-ah." I find ah-LEE-see-ah prettier than uh-LEESH-ah but I hate both. Sorry!
Definitely Alicia.
Not really. I'd want to say Alecia as uh-LESH-ah, uh-LEK-ee-ah or uh-LEH-shee-ah. Also I strongly dislike "variant" spellings as a general rule--they look illiterate to me.

1. I've only heard this as a-LEE-shee-uh. I like a-LEE-sha best.
2. Alecia is better, imo.
3. Yes
I don't have any stories, but it is a nice name.

I associate this name with Alicia Silverstone. I think it's very pretty! Alecia isn't appealing to me. I think I dislike that the name Alec is in front of it. I think Alicia is more likely to be pro. a-LEE-shuh and Alecia pro. a-LEE-sya. I definitely prefer the a-LEE-shuh pronunciation, the other way irritates me.
Do you prefer a-LEE-sha or a-LEE-see-uh? I pronounce it a-LEE-see-uh, unless spelled Alisha.
Do you like Alicia or Alecia better, or some other spelling? I prefer Alicia.
Do you think Alecia would encourage the second pronunciation more than Alicia would? Not really, IMO.
General thoughts: I like the name. It's nms and I wouldn't use it, but I find it very pretty.
Impressions: based solely on people I've known named Alicia, I would think of her as polished, professional, down-to-earth and generally great to be around.
No interesting stories though.

1. I prefer the a-LEE-see-uh pronunciation, definitely.
2. I think I just prefer the Alicia spelling, simply because it's more familiar to me.
3. Alecia MIGHT do this, but I have a feeling it wouldn't be to a great extent. However, that might be a purely regional thing.
4. I'm not fond of the name; I can tolerate a-LEE-see-uh more than A-LEE-sha, but it's not really a favorite. It just seems kind of bland and dated to me. I can't put my finger on why, though.

i prefer seeing it alicia and pronouncing it a-LEE-see-uh. in greek we say it "a-LEE-kee"
Do you prefer a-LEE-sha or a-LEE-see-uh? I prefer a-LEE-sha. a-LEE-see-uh does have a pretty sound but it sounds so pretentious

Do you think Alecia would encourage the second pronunciation more than Alicia would? No I don't. For some reason the second prn almost makes me want to say it with a hard c.

Its a really pretty name and very classy IMO, much more than Elisha or Elicia (which would be the spelling that would make me want to use the second pronounciation). I have very good associations with the name and it isn't overused.
