[Opinions] Thoughts on Georgette
Replies
Hehe, it's my mn, after my maternal grandfather, George. I like having a not-so-common mn, since my fn is so darn popular, but I used to hate my mn growing up. 'It sounds like the name of a French poodle!' LOL. I like it now, and especially the "differentness" of it. But I still get VERY strange looks and even smirks and laughs when I tell people--adults, mind you--my mn. I try to say it with a blank look, to gauge what their true reaction will be, not based on mine, but I think a lot of them are waiting to see what my reaction is of it before they react. When people laugh, I just shrug. Yeah, it's different, but thank God it's not Marie, Lynn, Ann, or Nicole like ALL the other Heathers I know! :)
I find it kind of fancy-pancy. -ette names aren't really my thing though.
I like it alot and i also think it sounds fun. Plus ive never met a person with this name which is a bonus to me
reminds me of thr snooty poodle in Oliver & Company, it's good for a poodle IMO, not for a person since that's all I think of.
It's okay, but I really prefer something amoung the lines of Georgia/Jorja or Georgina/Georgine. It's not awful and I wouldn't mind seeing more of it though.
It's funny you mention it's a material--I googled my fn and mn once and came up with several dresses. :b
Georgette isn't my style, but I have to admit that I started liking this name after my friend told me his dad's going to marry a woman with this name. Georgette does sound fun and "daring"--but I'd be hesitant because of the nickname "Georgie."
It sounds like somebody's fluffy white poodle witha bow in its hair and painted toenails. Eats gourmet dog food, has a beauty-parlor appointment every week, pees on the floor and bites people.
Yep, that's how I used to feel about it, definitely :b
I prefer Georgia. :)
