[Opinions] Sabrina
I'm having trouble with the name Sabrina. I love it and would use it, but here's the thing. It was the name of my cat when I was younger, and that's all that my family associates the name with. Is it still okay to use on a potential child, probably more than ten years down the road? TIA.

Hey, most of my cats have (or have had) names that I'd love to use someday! My favorites are Callista, Lily and Genevieve. I say if you love it, then use it. Sabrina is beautiful.

Sure, if you love the name and the cat is not alive anymore. My father had a toy when he was small, Peter the Penguin. My brother was named Peter because my father still loved the name all those years later. I'm sure his family remembered the funny little plastic bird he used to play with, but it never affected my brother. I realize less time has elapsed in your situation, but I bet once you bring little Sabrina home from the hospital no one will say anything about a cat. (Although I wouldn't advise using Catherine as a mn . . . .)

No, because of the cat and because of Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

yes it's ok, good choice in names, LOL [m]I think it works fine! I would use a pet name if I loved it a lot.

I have the same problem with cat names also. So thats why I try to use names I wouldn't want to use on a child someday but then sometimes after I name the cat I start liking the name more than I did before. But if you and your family still strongly associate Sabrina with the cat ten years down the road or whenever you have kids then no I wouldn't use it. If no one remembers Sabrina the cat by then, then I would say it is fine. And if you have a split situation where it bothers the family but not you then that is just up to you to decide.-Tara

I personally wouldn't just because I view pets as part of the family. But if you don't look at it that way then I don't see the problem with using the name. Sabrina is a very pretty name. This is the name of one of my moms cats as well.
