Hi :)
Just wondering...how do you guys like the name Maverick? Is it a good name? Bad? Cool? Annoying? Mysterious? Or anything else? So far everyone I know have said they don't like it. :(

I love the name, but according to a poll I put up earlier today, no one else does :o
don't like it
I like it :)
Maverick sounds cool, but a bit pretentious. I do really like how it sounds, but I wouldn't ever use it.
It's interesting
and unusual, and kind of refreshing. It's really not my style, but I'd like to see it on someone else's kid I think.
Everyone will know who they're talking about when they say "Maverick," which I think is the most important element in naming a kid.

It is interesting. I slightly like it, but yet I don't. I can't say that I would use it, maybe as a mn.
I don't care for it. I feel like it's trying to hard to make your kid sound tough.
It's a word, not a name to me
Some words sound good as names to me. Others, I just can't shake the everyday word association, and thus they just don't seem "name-like" enough for me. Maverick falls into the latter category for me, sorry. Just like, oh, say... Table, or Chair.
Maverick's also just askin' for trouble when your son hits his teens, methinks. ;-)

Ditto to all
I don't like it at all. I really don't see it as a name.
I think it's a code name for a fighter pilot, or a stage name for a pro wrestler. I do not think it is an everyday name for a normal, average person. It's trying WAY too hard to sound cool.
I think its a cool nickname, for someone who is wild and adventurous but I'm not a fan of it as a real name. It might be an okay mn.
Meh. It's okay, it just strikes me as one of those "cowboy wannabe" names.
I knew a Russian kid with this name. His real name was Mavriky (prounounced Mavreeky), but everyone called him Mav or Mavrick
