During the past few days I have been obcessing over the name Mattea for a girl. I am pronouncing it ma-tay-ah, i'm not sure if that is entirely correct. What do you think of the name Mattea? Is it useable?

I really love Mattea, said that way, and think it's definitely usable.

It's one of my favourite names, I'd use it if I didn't have a cousin named Matthew

I prefer it on a girl but I have heard it used on a boy- Mateja and also Mattia

I actually quite like it, although it's not what I would consider to be my style. It has a nice feel to it, and isn't popular although it doesn't seem out of place with the current set of names.

I don't like Mattea, doesn't look feminine to me for some reason. I like Matteo for a boy though. I think it could be pro. ma-tay-uh but it looks more like mah-tee-uh or matt-ee-uh to me.

I really like Mattea, I pronounce it as you do, and I definitely think it's useable...I don't see why it wouldn't be.

I mostly think of Kathy Mattea...

The country singer. I can really only see it as a a last name because of her.
