[Opinions] Maggie
What do you think of the name Maggie? Do you think it sounds strong enough to stand on its own or do you prefer it as a nickname for Margaret or Marguerite, etc? Also, do you have any middle name suggestions?

I think it is better as a nickname for Margaret, Marguerite, or Magdalen. It sounds very warm, casual and familiar, so if it were my name I'd prefer to have a more formal name for formal situations. I do like it a lot though.

I'd prefer it as a nickname for Margaret or any variants{as long as they're nice!}.It seems like a nickname to me.
Maggie is babyish to me. Margaret is nice, Marguerite is cowish for me (I'm French and Marguerite is the typical cow name).

I've always really disliked Maggie. The "ag" sound is so unattractive to my ears. I think the same with Agnes.

I love the name Maggie and I think it definitely works on it's own. Most people on here like to use full names with nn's, but I'm not so fussy. I like the combos Maggie Rose, Maggie Louise, Maggie Jane, Maggie Renae, Maggie Lola, Maggie Samantha, Maggie Elizabeth, Maggie Nicole and Maggie Tess / Tessa. My fave is Maggie Rose though, very sweet sounding.
I love Maggie as a nickname, but I don't think it stands alone very well. Here are some middle name ideas anyway:
Maggie Ann
Maggie Elaine
Maggie Elizabeth
Maggie Jane
Maggie Jeanne
Maggie June
Maggie Josephine
Maggie Louise
Maggie Lynn
Maggie Rose
Maggie Roxanne
I think J, L, and R names sound the best.

I like the name Maggie but am not too fond of it on its own. I definitely prefer it as a NN for Margaret. Maggie almost sounds too cutesy/little-girlish for an adult; at least she'd have the choice of going my Margaret or Maggie when she was older. BTW, Margaret is a huge GP of mine, although I prefer it as a MN.

I don't think Maggie stands alone very well. I love Margaret and Marguerite, and you could also use Maggie as a nickname for Magdalen.
