[Opinions] Opinions on Lucy.
What do you think of Lucy. I know it's really popular in England but I don't think it's too popular where I live in the US. I really like it as a nn for Lucinda. Do you prefer it by as a nn for Lucilla, Lucille, ect, or by itself?

I strongly dislike it.

Like you say, it is very popular in England. However, I like it (I think all the Lucys I know are nice) and prefer Lucy / Lucie by itself because the others sound a bit frilly.

I love Lucy I think its cute short and sweet. I like it on its own, but I also like it as a nn for Luciana and Lucienne.

I love the name Lucy, always have, always will. There's just something cute and sweet about it which I love, but it also has some spunk too. I also like the way it sounds on a child and all the way up to an adult and grandmother. It seems to suit a female of any age. I personally prefer just Lucy, but it is nice as a nn for Lucille and Lucinda too.

Hate it, but love Lucia.

I love it and prefer it on it's own.

I love Lucy, haha. It's popular, but not trendy. It's cute and spunky and will age well. I definitely prefer it as a nn (for whichever name you prefer). Lucy just isn't very strong on its own. My favorite fn for nn Lucy is Lucienne.

I dislike it, but that's probably because I know some really annoying people named Lucy, Incidentally, Lucie (this spelling) was my first ever favourite girls name :)

I love Lucy (no pun intended). But Lucy / Lucie is the only form of the name that I like. Lucy Elizabeth is my favorite combination, but I'm sure there are plenty of other ones too.

Well, it's my 18-mth old niece's name, so I love it because it belongs to her. But objectively speaking, I'm not that keen on it. It is EXTREMELY popular, and has been for ages- my best friend at uni was named Lucy, and it's been either #7 or #8 in popularity over here every year since 2000. I think I've been over-exposed to it, making it seem a bit bland to me now.

I like it.It's sweet but not saccharine. I prefer Lucy by itself not only because I think it stands perfectly well alone, but also since I don't particularly care for Lucilla, or Lucille, and I'm only lukewarm for Lucinda. I think Lucasta has appeal and could see Lucy as a feasible nickname for that, but otherwise I prefer it on its own.

I think it can work by itself, just as you see people called just Liam or just Kate. It's spunky and cute. I know quite a few older women called Lucy (just Lucy) and Elsa (just Elsa) and it is a legit name. But my favourite of the Lucy named are Lucia and Lucinda.

Love it.My boyfriend finds it too common, so it's out. I, too, will probably use as a nickname. I like Lucinda the best, followed by just Lucy.

I really like Lucy. However, it will soon be considered over-used, I predict. Even a woman reacently commented that she hears the name EVERYWHERE (it was a passing comment as she had no clue about my interest in names).I want to use it one day on a pet - I like Lucy Stone.

OTIt's funny that you should mention that- I once had a cat named Lucy :-D

Hahaha, love it! I like Lucy on a pet. Would have been a cat if I wasn't allergic to them. :)

Lucy has grown on me a whole lot lately. I would truely consider using it but as a nn to something else (Lucinda, Lucia, etc.) I don't care for Lucille.

Well, I don't like Lucy. But I to like Luciana (Loo-chee-ahna) and Lucia (Loo-shuh).

I actually like it a lot when it's used as a full name. I don't think it needs to be a nickname for anything.
