[Opinions] Julienne?
Every time I see "Children of Men", I fall in love with the name Jullienne - pronouced just like its male equivilent, Julian. (In fact, I think int he script the character's name is spelled Julian - but, name nerd that I am, I feel more comfortable with the french feminization, so there you go).So, WDYT of Julienne for a girl? Love it? Hate it?Also, wdyt of Jory on a boy?

This name bothers me, partly because of the connection to the dicing of vegetables and also because it sounds like Julian, which I love for a boy. Oddly enough, Adrienne for a girl does not bother me, though I prefer Adrian for a boy. Either way, I'd rather see Julienne on a girl than Julian or Julien, but I greatly prefer Julia, Julianne, Juliet, Juliana, etc. I know two girls named Jorie (this spelling), one as a full name (she's in her 30s) and one as a nn for Marjorie (she's in her teens), so it seems a bit more feminine to me. But I wouldn't greatly mind meeting a little boy named Jory by any means. :) It does seem nn-y to me, but I'm not sure what for. Jordan maybe? ETA: Just realized Jory is a form of George so I guess it could be a nn for that. Kinda cute. :b As for "Children of Men"--it bothered me that her name was Julian and spelled that way. :-/

Try Julia, Juliet, Julianne. Julienne doesn't really work for me. No one would be able to pronounce/spell her name.
I don't really like Jory on a boy.But it's your kid. To each their own.

I prefer Julianne or Juliana, Julienne is ok but makes me think of the vegetable. Jory sounds nicknamed for both genders and would not age well at all on a boy. I guess it's ok as a nn for something, eg Jordan or George.

Julienne is very nice : ) And Jory is cute, perhaps a tad nicknamey, but it could work nonetheless.

Love Julian on a boy or a girl but Julienne also reminds me of veggies :(Not a fan of Jory. Maybe as a nn for Jordan, but then I'd just perfer Jordan.

Funny thing is, both Blanche and Julienne were mentioned today and I feel like its time to start cooking.

Jullienne is cute but if it was my child i would choose Julieanne. I just think that it sounds a little better. Actually as i'm writing this Jullienne is sounding better and better. :) Jory for a boy wouldn't be a top pick of mine but it's okay. I think it sounds very much like Jury...i don't really think thats like a horrible thing...just something i noticed! :D
